To support Thomson Reuters’ growth in emerging professional markets we developed a new concept around ‘client intelligence’ built upon our proprietary Aperture™ real time search and visualisation technology.
Aperture™ is a rich web application that allows small business owners to create and track market intelligence; deriving new insight from multiple sources, evaluating news, opinion, and rumour and visualizing its impact on their key client accounts.
Custom-made channels tap into the wide range of content sources available today; from the factual traditional brands such as newspapers, analysts, and commentators, to the rumour, gossip, commentary and opinion on blogs and social media. Aperture™ blends these multiple sources into a simple newsfeed that lets users track and interact with these comments as they appear. Aperture™ enables the user to gain new insights within this channel by understanding the source and quality of the comment, where in the world the comments are being made, and what the sentiment is.
We overlaid this basic information with other internal or external factors such as sales and analysts’ forecasts to help business owners quickly understand the impact of news and events across their clients or market sector.
By splicing, combining, and cross-correlating internal forecasts with external market information and news the Aperture™ concept significantly reduces the time, cost and effort needed by professionals to source, read and interpret market intelligence and gives compelling visual tools to interpret the impact on their business.
